Guide

Make ownership visible: Your Turn or Waiting on Them

Separate ownership from next action so every open loop answers who can move this next and what will happen.

Your Turn means you can move it

Use Your Turn when you need to send, call, prepare, clarify or take another concrete action.

Waiting on Them means the dependency is external

Use Waiting on Them when the other person owes the reply, approval, file, confirmation or decision. The state can change as the conversation changes.

Keep the planned action and reminder independent

Write the next action explicitly. A Reminder can prompt you to revisit an item while it is still Waiting on Them without changing ownership.
